What Is Shotcrete Used For?
Shotcrete refers to a concrete application process that uses a wet-mix method, where the concrete is premixed and pumped through the hose where air is injected at the nozzle. Shotcrete is the perfect solution for adhering to irregular structures and creating stable vertical walls & slopes and can often be found on bridges, vertical cliffs on roads, structures and walls. In residential areas it can be found in pools, concrete carving and drains. United Structural Systems often uses the wet-mix shotcrete application method on commercial projects, but is flexible enough to use other methods of concrete application.
Gunite refers to a concrete application process that uses a dry-mix method. The concrete is applied dry, but water is injected inside the hose, at the nozzle, before application.
